Schedule for 2nd mid-term exam and make-ups

Dear sts
The following dates correspond to your last mid-term exam and corresponding make-up in November:

• Written exam (dictation and theory)  Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th (as scheduled)
• Oral exam Thursday 8th, 8 to 9am and Thursday 8th, 10 to 12am. You can register next Wednesday November 1st (Laura´s schedule)

 Topics
1. Written exam (Theory)

• Formal description of vowels short o; long o; short u; long u; schwa and long schwa
• Diphthongs (introduction)
• Closing diphthongs
• Differences between vowels and consonants
• General features of English consonants

2. Dictation (topmark 35 mistakes)

3. Oral exam

• Discussion of the film Magic beyond words. (Guideline with instructions at Carpe Diem).

Make-up exams

• November 19th and 20th, as scheduled (written test)
• November 12th and 13th (oral test)
