Susan I have some questions about the mid-term exam.
1)Do we have to know the difference between english and spanish plosive consonants taking into account "allophones" (i.e voicing, aspiration, place of articulation, release) or do we have to study the general characteristics of plosive consonants dealt in class (i.e PFC, articulation process, aspiration, epenthesis, acquisition by native speakers)???
2)Do we have to formally describe a english consonant?

Thank you!

Absolutely.
You can sit for only one part of the mid-term exam.

Just the general aspects, however some of the specific features were also discussed in class as part of the introduction to both phonological systems.
